The method involves detecting operational parameter by internal combustion engine sensor and influencing the operational parameter by an actuator. A measurement for the strength of pre-ignition is determined in dependence of the signal of the sensor. The influence of the controller of the actuator is carried out in dependence of the measured strength of pre-ignition to avoid the other pre-ignition.
