PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure information management system which can collect when occurrence of a failure of a portable terminal device, information effective for analysis of the failure without a significant rise of load. SOLUTION: When the failure occurs in the portable terminal device 2, failure information containing at least the model name of the portable terminal device 2, the content of the failure, and the state of the failure occurrence part is transmitted to the failure information management server 3 as a failure occurrence report. The failure information management server 3 periodically transmits, upon receipt of the failure occurrence report, a broadcast message for instructing a collection start condition of detailed data for analysis of the failure occurring in the portable terminal device 2 from a base station 6 covering the area where the portable terminal device 2 is present through a broadcast message center 4. The portable terminal device 2 starts collection of detailed data for failure analysis according to the collection start condition instructed by the received broadcast message, and transmits, when the next failure occurs, the collected detailed data to the failure information management server 3 as failure analysis information.
