The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing calcium fluoroaluminosilicate glass powder containing sodium and phosphorus at a lower temperature and with greater homogeneity than the present industrial production method, this material being used as a component of dental glass ionomer cements. The present method makes it possible to produce glass powder at a lower temperature, with greater homogeneity and with nanometric scale particles, which is not possible by the presently used method. The cost of production is approximately 60% lower than that of the industrial method. The glass powder can be used as a component of dental glass ionomer cement and as a biomaterial for osseous substitution. The glass ionomer cement produced with the calcium fluoroaluminosilicate glass powder containing sodium and phosphorus can also be used as a biomaterial for osseous substitution.
