PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting corrosion of a high strength steel turbine component subjected to rotary stress. SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting corrosion of a high strength steel turbine component comprises applying a sacrificial overlay coating material 4 to at least a portion of a surface of the component 1 to form a protected component, and applying a seal material to at least a portion of the protected component to form a seal coat having a temperature resistance of greater than about 500°F. This method is capable of inhibiting at least one of stress corrosion cracking or surface pitting of the turbine component 1 after exposure to corrosive water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
