<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrodesulfurization catalyst capable of suppressing the deterioration of catalysit performance (selectivity or the like) due to a pressure loss because of the small pressure loss of the catalyst, and to provide a method of removing a sulfur compound in a petroleum hydrocarbon using the hydrodesulfurization catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrodesulfurization catalyst has a shape including a coil-like cylindrical material 11 helically wound with a predetermined interval and a support 12 bonded along the axial direction of the coil-like cylindrical material 11, and is prepared by carrying at least one of element selected from among the groups VIA, VIII in the periodic table on a carrier 10 primarily composed of alumina. The sulfur compound in the petroleum hydrocarbon is removed under coexistence of the hydrogen by using the catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
