<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aqueous ink for inkjet recording that is excellent in redispersibility while satisfying printing density and storage stability, and to provide a method for producing the aqueous ink for inkjet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous ink for inkjet recording is aqueous ink produced by dispersing a pigment with (x) a water-soluble polymer having an anionic group and (y) a water-insoluble polymer having an anionic group and then subjecting the polymer to crosslinking treatment with a crosslinking agent having a functional group which can react with the anionic group, and characterized in that the amount of the crosslinking agent per gram of the polymer is 0.8 to 3.0 mmol equivalent/g and the amount of the anionic group per gram of the crosslinked polymer is 1.5 to 3.0 mmol/g.
