<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a memory capacity to the power of 2 even when a defective chip exists. <P>SOLUTION: This semiconductor device is provided with core chips CC0 to CC7 and an interface chip IF which supplies defective chip signals SK0 to SK7 which respectively correspond to core chips CC0 to CC7. The interface chip IF is provided with a number-of-sheets detection circuit 40 which detects the number of non-defective chips among the core chips CC0 to CC7, and when the number of non-defective chips detected by the number-of-sheets detection circuit 40 is set to X, and 2<SP>n</SP>≤X<2<SP>n+1</SP>(n is natural number), X-2<SP>n</SP>pieces of non-defective chips are defined as unused chips. This invention makes it possible to define even any non-defective chip as an unused chip so that even when any defective chip is found out, a memory capacity can be set to the power of 2. Thus, it is possible to eliminate complicated control of a controller concerning so called partial parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
