PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device and an operating method thereof are provided to repetitively program information about erase/write cycling times in one page when the information is stored in a memory cell, thereby easily updating the information. CONSTITUTION: An operation sensing logic(162) generates a pulse whenever memory blocks are programmed or erased. A storage device individually stores pulses that the operation sensing logic generates. A counting circuit counts a pulse stored in the storage device. A control logic(161) sets the voltage level of an operation voltage for programming/reading operations in the memory block according to the counted number. |
