FABRICATION OF METAL NANOPARTICLE IMMOBILIZED PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL NANOCAPSULE

PURPOSE: Phase change material nanocapsules are provided to maximize thermal control effectiveness and heat sensitivity by increasing a heat transfer rate of an external environment and to enhance durability. CONSTITUTION: Nanocapsules comprise a phase change material phase-changed at room temperature and a polymer shell surrounding the phase change material. The metal particles are fixed to the surface of the shell. A method for preparing the nanocapsules comprises the steps of: homogenizing a solution including the phase change material phase-changed at room temperature and the monomer in a nanometer size; mixing the homogenized solution and emulsifiers to prepare an emulsion; capsulating the phase change material through the polymerization reaction of the emulsion and co-monomer; and immobilizing the metal particles to the polymer shell of the capsule.
