949,314. Automatic exchange systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 4, 1960 [April 7, 1959], No. 11814/60. Heading H4K. In a lock-out arrangement for associating individual devices one at a time with common apparatus, e.g. registers with a marker, a set of bi-stable polarized relays A . . . F corresponding to the registers RA . . . RF control a chain circuit for a normally operative relay H. Assuming that two registers RB, RD are calling, relays B, D operate over their left-hand windings and relay H releases slowly, whereupon the opposed right-hand windings of all the relays are energized so that, although B, D remain operative, no other relay can operate. The registers RB, RD are connected in turn to the marker, and when both are released the circuit for relay H is restored. In another arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown), relay H is omitted and the chain circuit normally shortcircuits the right-hand windings of the relays, and the delay when the chain circuit is opened is obtained by the discharge of a condenser. Other slight modifications are mentioned. |
