<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device commoly uses as a full-cutting device and a half-cutting device, and decreasing a size, and also to provide a tape printer equipped with the cutting device. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting device 20 carrying out cutting action in a width direction of a tape-shaped member 160, is equipped with: a cutter unit 200 having a cutting blade 210 constituted by an oblique blade; and a cutter actuating mechanism 300 making the cutter unit 200 carry out circulating action including a cutting preparing action forwardly moving toward the tape-shaped member 160 from a cutting stand-by position to a cutting starting position, cutting action moving from the cutting starting position to a cutting finishing position, separating action backwardly moving from the cutting finishing position to a separating position, and returning action returning from the separating position to the cutting stand-by position.
