METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REALIZING MULTI-SCREEN SERVICE CONVERGENCE

A method for realizing multi-screen service convergence includes the following steps: each recorded program is assigned a unique serial number; for each program, plural video files with different code rates, different resolutions and the same content are created and the serial number assigned to the program is distributed to the video files; by using the serial number, the code rates and the resolutions as elements, the video files are named and stored; after a program selection request sent by a user is received, the code rate and the resolution for the user are obtained; and then according to the serial number of the program selected by the user, the obtained code rate and the obtained resolution, a corresponding video file is selected and played. A system for realizing multi-screen service convergence is also provided. With the method and the system, the convergence for kinds of multimedia services can be realized; and thus the order operation for the users is simplified and it is convenient for the users to watch the program.
