<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method, in the flocculation floating-up treatment for oil-containing waste water, which obtains treated water of high water quality having a reduced oil content, further, improves the dehydration treatment efficiency of the sludge generated by the flocculation floating-up treatment, and reduces the amount of dehydrated cakes and treatment cost. <P>SOLUTION: Oil-containing waste water is admixed with an organic flocculant made of a polymer composed of a dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate methyl chloride quaternary salt by 60 to 100 mol% and having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.0 to 3.0 dl/g.
