METHOD AND DEVICE FOR UPDATING SYSTEM INFORMATION

A method and device for updating system information relate to the field of communications technology. The method can include: monitoring the Common Search Space (CSS) of a primary component carrier; when scheduling information of a system information updating broadcast message is detected, acquiring the system information updating broadcast message according to the indication of the scheduling information, or when scheduling information of a paging message is detected, acquiring the paging message according to the indication of the scheduling information; and from the system information updating broadcast message or the paging message, acquiring the system information updating value of one or more component carriers whose system information has changed. By adopting the method, it is not necessary to monitor the CSS of the all corresponding component carriers when a User Equipment (UE) acquires the updated system information of the component carriers.
