MANUFACTURE OF TONER FOR DEVELOPING ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled toner having superior developing power and stability to a change in humidity by suspension-polymerizing a monomer contg. an anionic (co)polymer in the presence of a cationic dispersant and by treating the resulting polymer with a coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:To a monomer (A) such as styrene are added an anionic (co) polymer (B) such as a styrene-maleic acid copolymer and additives (C) such as a dye or a pigment and a cross-linking agent, and the monomer series is suspension-polymerized in the presence of a cationic dispersant (D) such as positively chargeable hydrophilic colloidal silica. About 0.5wt% silane coupling agent (E) such as vinyltrichlorosilane or titanate coupling agent such as isopropyltriisostearoyl titanate is added to the resulting polymer to obtain a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image.
