<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a uniform upward flow in the fiber bundles of a plurality of hollow fiber membrane modules disposed corresponding to various tanks. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane separation unit 1 having a plurality of hollow fiber membrane modules 2, has a bundling part 6 provided with an air diffusion opening 7 and a socket member 11 abutting on the bundling part 6, receiving at least dead weight of the plurality of the hollow fiber membranes 5 and forming a bubble chamber 12 under the bundling part 6, at a given position fixed with the ends of the plurality of the hollow fiber membranes 5 and avoiding the position fixed with the ends of the plurality of the hollow fiber membranes 5. An opening 11a1 for inserting an air diffusion pipe 10 and larger than a contour of the air diffusion pipe 10 is formed on the side face 11a of the socket member 11. The sectional area S<SB>2</SB>obtained by subtracting the sectional area of the air diffusion pipe 10 of the insertion part from the total area of the opening 11a1 formed on the side face 11a of the socket member 11, is 0.5-4.0 times of the total area S<SB>1</SB>of the air diffusion opening 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
