PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support apparatus that properly enters manual driving mode in which a vehicle travels based on a driving operation of a driver, from automatic driving mode. SOLUTION: The driving support apparatus 1 includes a permission area setting part 61 that sets a permission area A where the mode can be changed from the automatic driving mode to the manual driving mode. The permission area setting part 61 calculates a safe area A where no interference is predicted between an obstacle 12 around a vehicle 11 and candidate routes R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>n</SB>of the vehicle 11, and sets the permission area A based on the calculated safe area A.
