<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card-type peripheral device and a card system operable to optionally select power supply and data transmission and reception according to required transfer rate and electric power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A card-type peripheral device includes: an electronic component unit 210; a connector unit 213 where at least a power supply terminal among a signal terminal and the power supply terminal receiving a first power from a target device to be connected is formed; and a power supply unit 230 for receiving power transmitted externally in a non-contact manner, generating a second power, and supplying it to the electronic component unit. The electronic component unit 210 includes at least a second interface 220 among a first interface 218 through which data is transferred externally via the signal terminal under control of a controller 212 and the second interface 220 through which data is transferred externally via radio wave under control of the controller.
