PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aliphatic compound, by which a catalyst contained in a reaction solution can be separated in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for producing an alicyclic compound includes a process (process 1) of reacting an aromatic compound with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst prepared by supporting a metal on alumina at a reaction temperature of 50 to 200°C in a stirring tank type reactor to obtain a reaction solution containing the alicyclic compound, and a process (process 2) of heating the reaction solution obtained in the process 1 to a higher temperature by 5 to 30°C than the reaction temperature and then settling off the catalyst.
