PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security operation device and a communication method for communication between a user who operates the security operation device and an operator in a monitoring center. SOLUTION: A detection unit 48 detects a special operation different from a general operation that is a general security operation. A communication unit 36 transmits, upon detection of the special operation, a special operation signal showing that the special operation is performed to the monitoring center, through a security device. The communication unit 36 receives a call signal that is an answer to the special operation signal from the monitoring center, through the security device. An establishment unit 52 establishes, when the call signal is received, at least one of voice communication for transmitting a voice input through a microphone 30 and receiving voice to be output from a speaker 32 and an image communication for transmitting an image captured by a camera 34.
