<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for simultaneous and efficient removal of acidic ingredients, such as hydrogen chloride and sulfur oxides, in exhaust gas, heavy metals in collected ash or heavy metals and dioxins in exhaust gas and a treating agent for and a treating method of exhaust gas capable of preventing a deterioration in the fluidity of sodium hydrogen carbonate due to moisture absorption, a problem associated with handling of the carbonate. <P>SOLUTION: The treating agent for exhaust gas comprises (a) sodium hydrogen carbonate of an average particle size of 10-100μm and (b) a transition metal salt of a dithiocarbamic acid derivative of an average particle size of 1-100μm, in a ratio of 0.1-50 pts.mass of the transition metal salt of the dithiocarbamic acid derivative to 100 pts.mass of sodium hydrogen carbonate, and has a hygroscopic degree below 80 mg/g.
