<p>The invention relates to a process for preparing glycerine ethers to be used as additives in petroleum fuels. According to the invention, the process consists in reacting glycerine and isobutene in an isobutene:glycerine ratio of 1:2.5, in the presence of a polymeric acid catalyst, of the type of polystyrene reticulated with divinyl-benzene, and of a non-ionic or cationic emulsifier, while stirring for 8 h at temperatures of 20...100°C and pressures of 1...20 atm, wherefrom there results a mixture of oxygenated compounds which are introduced in the petroleum fuels in concentrations of 1...5%, with a view to reducing the emissions of smoke and polluting particles.</p> |
