PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nickel sulfate aqueous solution in which the content of free sulfuric acid is low. SOLUTION: The method for producing a nickel sulfate aqueous solution includes filling metal nickel masses in a metal dissolution column, feeding heated sulfuric acid from the upper part of the metal dissolution column and at the same time, and then, feeding an oxidant from the lower part of the metal dissolution column. The oxidant is at least one selected from air, oxygen, hydrogen peroxide and ozone.
