PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for compatibly achieving securing of restraining force at a restraining initial stage by quick development of an airbag and the subsequent reduction of restraining force. SOLUTION: This side airbag device 10 includes the side airbag 12 to be inflated and deployed by receiving gas supply, and a vent hole open delay structure 30 for maintaining a vent hole 32 formed in the side airbag 12 in a closed state at the development initial stage of the side airbag 12. The vent hole open delay structure 30 fully opens the vent hole 32 at a stretch since a connecting part 38 of foundation cloth 20 and a connecting part 42 of coating cloth 34 arranged to be overlapped with each other are broken according to a rise of internal pressure of the side airbag 12.
