PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle operating device which changes operating functions of on-vehicle equipment by allowing a dial itself to be moved to and held at a predetermined position, and which achieves a simplified construction and space saving, and improves ease of operation. SOLUTION: The vehicle operating device 1 performs a mode change by moving only the dial 11 on the surface of a control panel 1A, and executes the function corresponding to the mode change by rotating the dial 11. In the lower end of a switch pressing portion 12a of a pressing knob 12 of the dial 11, projection shapes 12b are formed at moving positions of the dial 11, respectively. By pressing the pressing knob 12 at the individual moving positions of the dial 11, an operation conversion switch 17 is pressed against the projection shapes 12b, thereby converting to an electrical signal and passing current to the on-vehicle electrical equipment.
