<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for producing a quartz crucible, whose thermal insulation properties (heat-retaining property) at its upper part is improved to improve soaking properties and heat efficiency when arc heating is performed, so that a portion which is forcibly cut/removed is reduced by reducing the diameter of the upper part of the quartz crucible and thinning the wall thickness of the upper part of the quartz crucible and the cost of raw materials can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The mold for producing the quartz crucible includes a cylindrical straight drum part, a mortar-shaped bottom part, and a corner part for connecting the cylindrical straight drum part to the mortar-shaped bottom part. An upper zone having the length of at least one fifth of the cylindrical straight drum part from the upper edge thereof is formed to have a high thermal insulation structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
