摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly stable journal bearing in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The journal bearing 10A includes: a rotatable shaft part 11; a bearing part 12 having a feeding groove 12a for feeding a lubricating liquid to support the shaft part 11 through the lubricating liquid; a lubricating liquid feeding part 13 feeding the lubricating liquid; a regulation valve 16 to regulate the feeding amount of the lubricating liquid; a regulation valve drive control part 20b controlling drive of the regulation valve 16; a shaft position detection part 18 detecting the position of the shaft part 11 inside the bearing part 12; and a lubricating liquid condition determination part 20a. The lubricating liquid condition determination part 20a calculates the amplitude of the shaft part 11 based on the position of the detected shaft part 11, and when the calculated amplitude is a first threshold value or higher, determines that self-excited vibration may occur. When it is determined that the self-excited vibration may occur, the regulation valve drive control part 20b controls drive of the regulation valve 16 to prevent occurrence of the self-excited vibration.
