METHOD FOR PRODUCING FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a composite functional material containing an insecticidal ingredient and a carrier represented by a sheet-like raw material without using a binder, by which the functional material gradually providing an insecticidal effect over a long period can be produced.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the functional material in which a terpenoid (especially a limonene extraction residual ingredient from a citrus) is supported on a carrier, by an interfacial polymerization reaction using an interface between an aqueous phase and an oil phase, includes a step for adding the terpenoid to a water-soluble monomer containing a surfactant to form an O/W emulsion, and a step for bringing a carrier into contact with the O/W emulsion and then with an organic solvent solution of an oil-soluble monomer allowing the interfacial polymerization reaction.
