PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem of conventional reciprocating saw that, as it is very difficult to drastically change the cutting direction, it cannot make a rectangular hole in one operation so that there is no other way but only making through-holes for the change in direction at apexes beforehand then cutting to connect each apex. SOLUTION: This handheld reciprocating saw for wood is equipped with a reciprocating cantilever saw blade, where the original cutting teeth locating at one side of the saw blade have a set of saw teeth, and on the other opposing side, round-sawing edges functioning as cutting teeth are provided across the width at least larger than the vibration width of the back and forth movement of the body reciprocation.
