A cable pulley which may be circular, elliptical, segmental or, as shown, semicircular, comprises a pair of identical flanged mating parts 12, 13, Fig. 2, stamped from sheet metal or the like, the groove formed by the mating flanges having curved side walls 28, Fig. 3, and being lined with a curved rim member 32 having a pair of cable grooves 33, 34. The identical parts 12, 13 are secured together by peening over the hollow lug 25 on one part through the aperture 24 of the other part. The rim member 32 is located by a pair of ears at each end. As applied to the drive between a reciprocating link 40 and an oscillating shaft 22 secured centrally to the pulley, a cable 42 fastened at one end 43 to the link 40 extends into and half-way round one pulley groove 33 and then passes between ears 17, 18 (Fig. 2) to cross into the other groove 34. The emerging cable end 45, which is also attached to the link 40, is thus laterally spaced from the end 43. A lug 48 fastened to the cable fits between the ears 17, 18 on the pulley. The link 40 is curved in cross-section to embrace the curved pulley walls 28. Specification 833,776 is referred to. |
