The device has a machine platform, and positioning disks (14) arranged on the platform for aligning and correctly positioning functional elements i.e. cams, such that a shaft carried by a shaft carrier is inserted into openings of the functional elements by axial relative displacement of the machine platform and the shaft carrier. The openings align with each other. The positioning disks are reversibly fixed on a frame, which is reversibly fixed on the machine platform. Spacer elements (22) are fixed reversibly at the frame.
