PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a function of sound output during viewing of a digital broadcast regarding sound output. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver 10 includes a tuner 108 and a loudspeaker 112 which are integrated, and further includes an external connection terminal 116 for connecting a monitor 30. When receiving an emergency broadcast, the digital broadcast receiver 10 increases the sound volume of the loudspeaker 112. When receiving a stereophonic broadcast, the digital broadcast receiver 10 outputs either one of right-side sound or left-side sound to the loudspeaker 112 and outputs the other to a loudspeaker included in the monitor 30.
