The mold for a continuous casting plant, comprises a continuous opening for the passage of materials to be cast that limits by hot side, and/or a cold side, a head- and base side, where the wall thickness of the mold is interval between the hot side and cold side measured on a position of the circumference of the mold on the respective position vertically to the surface of the hot side in the direction on the cold side, and/or two temperature measuring elements arranged on or in the base body forming the mold, where five temperature measuring elements are arranged in an interval of 50% of the wall thickness of the hot side. The first temperature measuring element is arranged along the longitudinal stretching of the temperature measuring stretch to a second temperature measuring element. The temperature measuring stretch has an optical fiber that is equipped along its longitudinal stretching with individual optical temperature measuring element. The optical fiber is provided for forming individual temperature measuring element along its longitudinal stretching on determined position with fiber-Bragg-lattice. The optical fiber is arranged in a protective tube. The temperature measuring stretch is formed through a thermoelement arranged in a support tube in meander-shaped manner and has a connection end and a free end. The temperature measuring elements are arranged uniformly over the longitudinal stretching of the temperature measuring stretch. The temperature measuring element and/or the temperature measuring stretch are arranged in a groove subjected in the cold side of the mold.
