The device has a coupling pin (15) completely penetrating a mounting hole in a motor vehicle part i.e. steering wheel structure (1), and a damping mass. A fastening section (17) is arranged at an end of the coupling pin. The motor vehicle part or the damping mass is fastenable at the fastening section. An annular retainer (29) is partially defined by the coupling pin. An elastic ring body (21) sits in the annular retainer, and surrounds the coupling pin. The coupling pin includes a sleeve-like base section with a passage of constant thin cross section in an axial gradient.
