PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for adjustment of a positional relation between a photographic lens and an imaging device. SOLUTION: A chart image imaged by the photographic lens is picked up by the imaging device, and the data amount of an imaging signal is reduced so that a reduced image being smaller in size than a picked-up image obtained from the total number of pixels of the imaging device may be obtained when the imaging signal is read out from the imaging device. The reduction in data amount of the imaging signal is performed by thinning pixels during reading of the imaging signal from the imaging device or coupling specific pixels to each other during reading of the imaging signal from the imaging device. Since the data amount of the imaging signal is reduced, the time required for reading the imaging signal from the imaging device can be shortened to shorten the time required for entire adjustment of the positional relation between the photographic lens and the imaging device.
