The present invention provides a method for controlling services of a set-top box. The method includes that: a set-top box receives a user operation instruction; the set-top box transmits a request message to a server according to the operation instruction; the server distributes setting parameters of predefined service control points with respect to the set-top box service entity according to the request message; and the predefined service control points of the set-top box service entity implements a service corresponding to the operation instruction according to the setting parameters. The present invention also provides a corresponding set-top box, server and video service system. The present invention achieves separation of service logic control from processing, and solves the problem of dependence of existence of logic control on page layout, thus enabling the set-top box to achieve multiple services at the same time.
