A vehicular brake device comprises a swing arm (34) that supports a rear axle (46). The swing arm (34) supports a slave cylinder (111), which operates by way of hydraulic pressure, which is generated within a master cylinder (104) and transmitted via a brake conduit (108), by way of an operation of a brake pedal (102) that puts the brakes on the rear wheel. A brake arm (117), which is disposed upon a rear brake drum (14), and the slave cylinder (111) are positioned upon the same side as the swing arm (34). The slave cylinder (111) is linked to the brake arm (117) via a transmission rod (88), and braking force is thereby transmitted to the rear wheel.
