CLEANING THE EXHAUST GAS OF PETROL ENGINES USING AN ADSORBER WITH PARTICULATE FILTER FUNCTION

The adsorber has an inlet-sided channel (20) and an outlet-sided channel (22), which are separated from each other by a porous ceramic carrier (24). A ceramic carrier comprises a coating (26) with zeolite at an inlet side and an outlet side of the adsorber. Exhaust gas flows into the inlet-sided channel and is penetrated into the coating and the ceramic carrier. The exhaust gas in the outlet-sided channel is discharged and is supplied into a three-way catalytic converter. Particles (32) and gaseous components (34) are accumulated at a surface of the inlet-sided channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning exhaust gas of an Otto engine.
