929,038. Binding posts. SQUARE D CO. March 2, 1962 [April 27, 1961], No. 8101/62. Class 38 (1). An electrical connector comprises a " U "- shaped body having a slot 32 through one of its legs near the free end in which the curved tongue of a cross piece 12 forms a loose pivot and a clamping screw through the cross piece to clamp the conductors and also, when screwed into the body, to co-operate with the other leg to prevent the cross piece moving about its pivot. The cross piece may have a second, smaller tongue engaging in a slot in the other leg. The curved tongue is arranged so that when the screw is fitted it is not possible to separate the cross piece and the body. The clamping end of the screw may be enlarged, and the legs of the " U " may be curved 40, 42 to accommodate the enlarged end. |
