PURPOSE: A relay equipment and a method thereof in the wireless telecommunications system are provided to flexibly react with the network situation. CONSTITUTION: A signal detection unit comprises low noise amplifiers(131,164), and couplers(132,163) and signal detection ends(135,165). The signal detection unit detects the size of a signal by receiving the signal from the base station or the terminal. A controller(140) compares the size of the signal detected from the signal detection unit with the size of the signal predetermining in system and forwards the comparison information. An output signal control part comprises gain control shifts(133,162) and output amplification stages(134,161). The output signal control part controls and amplifies the gain of the signal transmitted to the base station or the terminal.
