<p>The present invention discloses a method for forming a thread onto a deformed bar of the type used for reinforcing concrete which has outwardly extending ribs and/or fins. The method comprises the steps of squeezing at least part of the deformed bar to a predetermined diameter to substantially eliminate the ribs and/or fins to form a substantially smooth surface; and forming a thread onto the squeezed deformed bar.</p> |
