PURPOSE: An electric compressor is provided to enhance the cooling efficiency of a compressor by efficiently cooling an inverter assembly and a motor. CONSTITUTION: An electric compressor comprises a housing(10), a motor(12) and an inverter assembly(30). The housing is formed by a barrier(16) and comprises a motor room(10') and an inverter room(14). A plurality of cooling fins(20) are formed on the barrier. The cooling pins are protruded to the motor. A refrigerant intake port(11) is formed on one side of the housing. The refrigerant intake port is communicated with the motor room. The motor is installed in the motor room. The motor supplies driving force to compress refrigerant. The inverter assembly is installed in the inverter room. The inverter assembly controls the rotation of the motor.
