LIP SEAL APPARATUS WITH IMPELLER FOR PRESSURE CONTROL

PURPOSE: A lip seal device having a pressure control impeller is provided to prevent the damage and deformation of a lip seal by discharging oil to the opposite side of the lip seal. CONSTITUTION: A lip seal device having a pressure control impeller contacts the exterior surface of a seal sleeve(15) enclosing a rotary shaft(8) of a thruster of a ship and applies oil pressure corresponding to seawater pressure in order to block the inflow of seawater. The lip seal device includes an impeller which is installed on the end of the seal sleeve that faces the inside of the ship. The impeller rotates along the seal sleeve to make oil flow opposite to the lip seal device, thereby reducing the pressure exerted on the lip seal device.
