<p>The device (D) has a voltage control oscillator (OP) designed to generate an ultrasonic signal (S) at a fixed ultrasonic frequency i.e. carrier frequency. A modulation unit (MOD) modulates the ultrasonic frequency of the signal by a control signal (CO). The voltage control oscillator is mounted in an unstable manner such that the carrier frequency depends on a charging duration of a capacitor (C). The modulation unit is designed to modify the charging duration of the capacitor based on the temporal evolution of the control signal.</p>
