<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical package and a photoelectric sensor that easily reduce stray light at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The optical package includes a projection element 1 which is installed on a mount substrate 2 and powered to emit light, a metal package 3 which is installed on the mount substrate 2 and accommodates the projection element 1 therein, an opening 4 for emitting light emitted by the projection element 1 to the outside, and a coating surface 9 for absorbing the stray light by painting an inner peripheral surface of the metal package 3 in black.
