The present invention relates to wireless communication technology, particularly relates to a method and device for performing access, which is used for resolving the existent problem in the prior art that the access difficulty is increased and the access efficiency is reduced for selecting proper Remote Radio Unit (RRU) according to Base Band Unit (BBU) interface type when the RRU is accessing the BBU. The method of the present invention includes the following steps: the RRU receives data via a group of interfaces, wherein the RRU contains at least two groups of interfaces, each group contains at least one interface and uses one interface standard, and the types of the interface standards used by the at least two groups of interfaces are no less than two types; the data frame protocol used by the data is determined according to the structure of the received data and the interface standard used by a group of interfaces receiving the data is determined according to the determined data frame protocol; and the determined interface standard is used for performing access via a group of interfaces receiving the data. Using the method of the present application can reduce the access difficulty and improve the access efficiency.
