PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base that can be used for a manually retractable door mirror in which a shaft is arranged on a rotatable part side and for an electrically retractable door mirror in which a shaft is arranged on a stationary part side. SOLUTION: The base 32 includes a vehicle body fixing part 32a and a rotation support part 32b. The rotation support part 32b includes a shaft erection fixing surface 76, where the shaft 74 of an electric drive mechanism 70 of the electrically retractable door mirror can be fixedly erected. A center hole 56 is formed in the center of the shaft erection fixing surface 76, where the shaft 38 formed on the rotatable part side of the manually retractable door mirror can be rotatably passed. An annular wall accommodation groove 58 is formed on the periphery of the shaft erection fixing surface 76, where an annular wall 40 formed coaxially with the shaft 38 on the rotatable part side of the manually retractable door mirror can be rotatably accommodated.
