<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit capable of preventing a seal member of a rotation ring on a vehicle body side from being directly exposed to a foreign object from the outside and efficiently discharging the foreign object which has entered inside in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing unit includes an outer ring 2, an inner ring 4, a plurality of rolling elements 6, 8, a seal 10a for sealing the inside on the vehicle body side of the outer ring, and a slinger 17 arranged on the vehicle body side from the seal. A base end of the slinger is fitted inside the outer ring and continues along the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring. The slinger is made by bending a plate member so that its edge extends toward the inner ring side to cover the seal. The base end of the slinger includes a cylindrical part 17a along the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring and a bent part 17e bent from there toward the edge. A ring part 17b is arranged to closely face to the vehicle body side of the seal in an area from the bent part to the edge. A plurality of hole parts 17c penetrates the bent part from the wheel side to the vehicle body side to be opened toward an inner peripheral surface of the outer ring at predetermined intervals along the circumferential direction. A diameter of the hole is set to have a dimension from twice to three times as thick as the plate member.
