HEPARIN-LIKE COMPOUND, MANUFACTURE THEREOF, AND USE THEREOF FOR INHIBITING ARTERIAL THROMBOSIS ASSOCIATED WITH VASCULAR INJURY AND INTERVENTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heparin-like compound characterized by capacity inhibiting collagen-induced platelet aggregation in flowing whole blood.

SOLUTION: The heparin-like compound is a negatively charged heparin or a heparin-like glycosaminoglycan molecule each having a high coupling density that is present in multiple heparin or heparin-like glycosaminoglycan as well as in proteoglycan containing the multiple heparin or the heparin-like glycosaminoglycan or lower-molecular-weight heparin or heparin-like glycosaminoglycan connected directly or through a spacer/linker molecule to a globular core molecule. The heparin-like compound is obtainable, from a mammalian mast cell, by tissue extraction or cell cultivation, or can be produced by a synthetic, semisynthetic and/or biotechnological method. The heparin-like compound is useful for manufacturing a preparation, a means and a device for a topical application in prophylactic treatment of arterial thrombosis and its sequelae.
