<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet which can be obtained by extrusion molding and has a high shapable nature; to provide a surface light source apparatus and a transmission-type display apparatus equipped with the optical sheet; and further to provide a method for manufacturing the optical sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A prism sheet 16 is the optical sheet which has an optical shape part formed by arranging a plurality of unit prisms 161 at least on one face. At least the optical shape part is formed of a polycarbonate resin and the polycarbonate resin has a weight average molecular weight of 18,000 to 22,000, a ratio of contained components of molecular weight of ≤1,000 to the weight of the whole polycarbonate resin is 2.0 to 4.0 wt.%, and storage modulus G' at 150°C is 2.0×10<SP>6</SP>to 3.0×10<SP>7</SP>Pa.
